Ich war gerade bei AirTech (also nur der Homepage:http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/duc ... leconv.htm) um noch ein Mal meine Traumverkleidung anzusehen. Da habe ich in die FAQ’s dieses gefunden:
Can I use pump gas in your racing fuel tanks?
Modern pump gas is pretty crappy stuff. It contains a load of oxygenizers, fuel injector cleaners, ethanol, ketones and other additives that can wreak havoc on a fiberglass tank. Even though we use a high-end aircraft quality vinylester sealer on all of our tanks, it is possible a reaction may occur between pump gas and the tank liner.
We therefore recommend that anyone planning on using pump gas in any of our tanks first coat the inside of the tank with a fuel tank liner like Kreem, before putting gas in the tank for the first time. Do not use the first-step rinse in the Kreem kit as it contains heavy ketones (MEK) that will destroy your tank. It is designed to remove fuel residue and varnish from a used tank. Do not use the second (metal etching) step either, since you're not working on a metal tank. Basically, you don't need the 3-step kit, just the tank liner.
On a fresh tank that has never had fuel in it, al you need is a quick, careful rinse with (warm) water and a non-solvent degreaser, then flush it with plenty of clean water. Make sure the tank is completely dry before proceeding and follow all manufacturers instructions. Last but not least, always use a fuel filter. ************** HOT! *************
We recently talked to a well known cafe builder (thanks mate!) who says he swears by POR-15 tank sealer for all his fiberglass tanks. Now we know not everyone's a fan of Kreem so we thought we'd pass the hot tip along to our gentle customers. Click here for some more info: POR 15
